Shameless Earthday plug!

Posted: April 22nd, 2009

For Earth Day 2009 I thought I’d make a shameless plug for my “green” web design and development company. Green? you asked, well my friend, McClintic Design Inc. uses almost 60% recycled code on all it’s projects. Think of how many trees are saved by that recycled code! That recycling effort saves approximately 1 tree every 2 years! Imagine how many trees will be saved if all development shops used recycled code!

In all honesty, my company is probably not as green as we should be. I do only use 1 ream paper every 6 months or so but I could be better about shutting down my computers when I’m done for the evening. The hosting company I use does purchase “green” energy credits to keep their servers running so I guess that’s something.

If anything, go plant a tree or volunteer at a school (which is what we’re doing today) so you can stress to the next generation the importance of conservation, recycling and generally being more responsible than we’ve been.

Happy Earth Day!

Internet Explorer 8 Released!

Thanks Microsoft! For giving us yet another reason to finally get rid of that lame excuse for a web browser Internet Explorer 6. Now if you could only make IE8 cause all those people still running IE 6 to have to reformat their harddrives so it can be gone once and for all!
